Got Stuck? Try These Tips to Streamline Your March

For the month of March, I am going to focus my blog posts on how to continue moving forward and making progress on your goals.

In January, we created our goals for the year.  In February, we either began working on those goals or refining our plan of attack.  Now that March is upon us, I want to help you with your ability to make forward progress with your goals.

We near the end of the 1st quarter of 2016 so let us not lose our steam!  Let us march forward with even more zeal and enthusiasm.  Let us continue to strive daily to live the life we desire.

In March, the goal is to demonstrate your desire to live the life you intend on living one day and one week at a time.

Each week I will post on Monday a new focus for the week.

WEEK 1:  Review Your Purpose: The “why”

You have selected a goal/identified an area that you want to improve/develop. Great! Why did you pick this area?  On a scale of 1-10 how motivated are you currently to carry out your plan to improve this area of your life?

People are motivated to change for various reasons.  You could be uncomfortable with your current circumstance or trying to reinvent yourself.  You could be getting valuable feedback from a few trusted friends, family members or co-workers telling you that there is an area of opportunity for growth in your life.  No matter what the catalyst was, you had a reason for adopting this goals and putting in effort to make changes in your life.  What was the reason? Has the reason for this goal grown over the past two months? If so, how?

ACTION ITEM: Take 5 minutes right now to write the reason behind your goal.

Read that reason aloud.  This is your purpose for this time in your life.  This will keep you marching forward on the path in which you desire.  This is your motivation.  This is your inspiration.  Look back on this reason when you don’t feel like moving forward.  Being complacent is no longer an option.

March forward this week with your purpose in mind.

Sonya’s Marching Orders:  Write the “why” of your goal in as many places as you can (i.e.- Journal, Bathroom Mirror, Dashboard of Car, Planner, Kitchen etc). At the end of the week, reflect on your level of inspiration to achieve your goal.
