Self-care is an Act of Gratitude

Reason number 43 why I decided to make self-care a priority this year is ……

Self-care is an act of gratitude.

As we embark on the holiday season, we tend to hear a lot of stories about those who are less fortunate and messaging related to how we should all be grateful for the things we have whether we think it’s a lot or a little.

During Thanksgiving, you may have been asked,”What are you grateful for?”

Common answers may include food, clothing, shelter, family, etc., but I challenge you to think deeper about what you truly are grateful for in your life.

I’m grateful for self-care. I’m grateful for you.  I’m grateful for who I was, who I am and who I am becoming.

In this season of giving, don’t forget to show yourself gratitude through self-care. You can also share this gift of gratitude that comes through self-care with others.  Show someone the importance and benefits of self-care through your own personal journey. Encourage someone to participate in a self-care activity with you or show your appreciation of someone by offering to babysit sit so they can have some “me” time.

I am grateful because I practice self-care.

Be well,

Sonya
